In January I was invited to perform at the annual conference put on by the Qadriyya Association for the Revival of the Sunnah in the Gambia.
It was my first time in West Africa and it was a great blessing to be amongst such great luminaries from the Qadriyya Sufi Order. I received amazing hospitality and love and built unbelievable bonds of friendship in my short time there. Big shout out and love to all my folks in Gambia especially Shaykh Muhammad Hydara, Dr. Umar, and Kunta Kente for your hospitality. Here is a recording of my performance of a poem entitled, “Heavens Door”, from my book ‘Disembodied Kneelings’.
